At one or another food show that we attended, we got a sample of Redmond Real Salt. This OU certified salt sat on the dining room table for quite some time. This salt comes from deep, underground caves. There is no processing, no bleaching, and no additives. It is just salt as it comes out of the earth. Slightly brownish in color, the salt has a sweet taste to it. Compared to regular salt, this one has a “momma put the coins on my eyes for I have surely gone to heaven” kind of taste.
The salt contains fifty trace minerals, including Iodine. Yet, it is also Kosher for Passover!
