Apple Pudding (Dairy)
What You’ll Need
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 teaspoons baking soda
8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 cups milk
5 large apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans, almonds, or walnuts
What to Do
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and baking soda.
In another large bowl, cream softened butter until light and fluffy. Beat in sugar; beat in eggs, one at time. Stir in dry ingredients and milk alternately. Stir in chopped apples and nuts. Pour into prepared baking dish.
Bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool to room temperature.
Cut into squares or spoon into bowls and top with whipped cream or ice cream.
