We were in the States for a brief visit, and we heard about this lovely restaurant. We decided to try it, and we are glad we did.
The food is delicious, and the portions are quite large. Two of us went to dinner. We had the multi Israeli salads plate for a starter. One of us had the Teriyaki chicken, and the other had a steak. Neither one of us could finish our portions. Seriously, they were tremendous. We only have one complaint: we ordered the steak medium well, and it came back quite well. We did not send it back. It was still quite good.
There is no ambiance at all. The room is sizable, and contains wooden tables and chairs. Maybe because it is in Brooklyn, the table conversations were quite loud. Also, the constant ringing of cell phones was quite distracting. We wish restaurants would just take away phones and give them back later.
There were only two waitstaff personnel there the night we were there. As the place grew more crowded, the wait staff was hard pressed to keep up. The staff was pleasant and helpful, but clearly over burdened.
One thing we did like, compared to life in Israel, was that we asked for water, and got a pitcher of ice cold water with ice cubes. In Israel, they parcel out cubes as if they are gold. And the water is never really cold.
We would go again. It is not a fancy place. It is just a place to get really good food.
