Located in the heart of Talpiot, this Mehadrin restaurant is an
amazing place to dine. In one short sentence: the
food never stops!! We came, we saw, we ate and ate and ate, and
we were conquered!
For starters, the salad dishes literally never stop coming to the
table. You start with fourteen salads and move on from
there! Each time you finish a salad, they bring more. There
was baba gnoush,, hummus, techina, beets, Israeli salad, s’chug, amba,
carrot salad, pickled celery, pickles, olives, pickled carrots, sour
slaw, sweet slaw, mint and pepper salad, fries,hot felafel balls,
hot fresh pita, and more- we just can’t remember it all.
We had a lot of different skewers of food for our main course:
meat kabob, pargiot, chicken kabob, goose breast, and goose liver (foie
gras). The goose liver was taam gan eden. We have never had
such soft and succulent goodse liver. Plus, it was grilled to
perfection.
All throughout dinner the supply of salads kept coming and coming and
coming. Everything we ate was totally delicious.
The restaurant is a good size, and it even has a non smoking
section. It is very clean. Service was good and
consistent. And the prices were a miracle! Dinner for three
plus tip came to 250 shekels- less than sixty dollars for all of
us. Not too bad, eh?
The restaurant offers two menus- one in Hebrew and the other in
English. Beware the English menu, though it has some really
great examples of why foreign countries should hire Americans to do
their English menu.
The English menu offers a “varity” of meats, including Antricot, Swear Bread, Skerwers of food, and many aperizzers.
Some of the main dishes include: lamb filet, chicken steak, veal
ribs, chicken livers, chicken hearts and lamb fat skewers.
We opted for something a tad less exotic than chicken hearts!
So, the question is- would we go again?
ABSOLUTELY! Hashgacha is rabbanut, and the restaurant
is located at 21 Yad Charutzim, in Talpiot.
A total winner!
