THE SHIKSA’S GUIDE TO DATING JEWISH MEN

Believe it or not, the above is a title of a relatively new book out there. According to the author, a Gentile, Jewish men are passionate lovers (we really are, btw!), good husbands, caring spouses, and, coming from a strong matriarchal background, especially comfortable with strong women. In short, she says a whole lot of true things about us Jewish men. Especially the part about us being superior lovers. (If you know the joke: “My name is Tonto Goldstein, but you can call me Bubba.”)

Many people have hailed the book because it says nice things about Jewish men. The hope is that it will be a positive force in the market for Jewish women to find Jewish men more attractive.

The problem is that the book hails interdating and intermarriage. And that is a death sentence for the Jewish people. We used to joke that everytime a Gentile puts mayo on white bread with pastrami, a Jew somewhere dies. Now we see the evidence all around us that every time a Jew marries out, the future of the Jewish people dies a little bit more.

One Jewish lady remarked that it is hard enough to find a good (Jewish) man, that adding Gentiles into the mix is unfair to Jewish women. Already JDate seems to have about 50,000 non Jews on their list of eligible people. Why are they there? You know why!

So what do we do about it? We have no answers, but we would love to hear what you have to say.
