BAKERY 29 (ISRAEL)

Today, boys and girls, we are honored to have a guest post from loyal reader Sharon Victor (Ramat Gan, Israel). Thank you, Sharon for this great review!

Bakery 29

The next time you’re in Tel Aviv, you can enjoy a tasty meal, buy some cakes and cookies to take home, and donate to a worthy cause – all under the same roof.

Bakery 29 is a charming, cozy spot on a quiet corner in a busy commercial section of Tel Aviv. It is the “baby” of Netta Korin, who had a successful career on Wall Street for 15 years. After making aliyah, she decided to fulfill her dream of becoming a pastry chef. Today the bakery sells homemade cakes, cookies, and breads, as well as light dairy meals.

I recently had a late lunch with friends at Bakery 29. Two of us shared the “Brunch for 2,” which included 3 small frittatas, chopped salad, side spreads (cream cheese, egg salad, tuna salad, olive tapenade, butter, and homemade fruit preserves), a basket of freshly baked bread, 2 small pastries, 2 cold drinks, and 2 hot drinks.

Seating is available indoors or outside on the terrrace. There is also a room available for private and intimate dinner parties.

The amazing thing about Bakery 29 is that it was created in order to contribute 100% of its profits to the IMPACT! Scholarship Program. IMPACT!, established by Friends of the IDF (FIDF) in 2002, grants full academic scholarships to IDF combat soldiers who have completed their military service and cannot afford the cost of higher education.

Kashrut Certificate is issued by the Tel Aviv Rabbinute.

Location: 29 Ehad HaAm Street, Tel Aviv, around the corner from Allenby Road near the Great Synagogue, and a short walk to the Carmel Market and Crafts Fair.
