MOSHIKO’S ON THE MIDROCHOV

Call it Ben Yehuda Street or call it the Midrochov, either way, the outdoor mall on Ben Yehuda street is a great place to people watch, to shop, and to “chop a nosh.” Although our usual travel buddy prefers the kosher Burger King on the midrochov, we prefer Moshikos.

Moshiko is a schwarma/felafel store. Although there are a few stools in the store, most people take their food outside and sit at one of the tables that dot the area.

Moshiko makes only one kind of schwarma: lamb and turkey mixed together. Somehow, his schwarma is always one of the best. His laffas are fresh from the oven, and his schwarma comes with a choice of 9 toppings. Add in the usual chips and chummus he puts in the laffa, and you have quite a meal!

We don’t know what it is that makes schwarma so much better in Israel (the lamb??), but somehow it always tastes better there.

One night, seven of us invaded Moshiko’s and we got courteous treatment and were served quickly and efficiently. All of us enjoyed our dinners.

Next time you are on the Midrochov, stop and say hello and order a schwarma!
