Located at 24 Emek Refaim, this middle of the road restaurant features good food, excellent service, and moderate prices.
If you go to Joy (and, yes, it is Beer and not Bar), be sure to try the freshly fried sweet potato chips served with warm maple syrup poured over them. It is a sublime taste and one to be savored!!
We were two for dinner. Our appetizers were:
Liver pate stuffed mushrooms- a phenomenal tast treat, by the way. Three very large shrooms filled with pate and fried to perfection.
Beef carpaccio- medallions of beef marinated to perfection and just the right balance of oil, garlic and soy.
The presentation of both was magnificent!
Dinner:
Veal chops- two HUGE chops well seasoned and grilled to request. Spiced little potatoes rounded out the plate.
Entrecote- A 250 gram piece of meat, grilled to perfection, accompanied by mashed potatoes and different kinds of grilled onions (green, red, yellow and white).
We had a bottle of mineral water and a cold soda with ice.
The bill before tip was about $90.
Finally, Joy is a good place to go. It is not fancy. The food is not gourmet quality. Our steak was very good, but, in truth, we have had much better meat in other venues.
We did have a wonderful time, and would go again.
