Battered Cheese Sticks (Dairy)

Ingredients (10)

Battered Cheese Sticks

  • 1 cup yellow corn meal
  • 1 cup Mishpacha Flour
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 and 1/4 cups milk
  • 18 sticks of mozzarella, cut in half
  • oil, for frying
  • Marinara, for dipping

Start Cooking

Prepare the Battered Cheese Sticks

  1. Heat your oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Combine dry ingredients. Whisk in the egg and milk to make a smooth batter.

  3. Insert a skewer or toothpick into one end of each mozzarella stick and dip into batter, coating completely.

  4. Slowly and carefully drop into hot oil, skewer and all. Fry until golden brown on all sides.

  5. Remove to a paper towel lined dish and enjoy immediately with marinara sauce.
