Located inside the Machaneh Yehuda Shuk in Jerusalem, at Ha’egoz St, 28, Hatch is a most amazing place to eat. They brew all their own beers. We tried the IPA with our lunch. It was incredible. Even though they are famous for their own in kitchen made sausages, we did not order them. We were two for lunch.
We started with the chicken wings. Their version of Buffalo wings is sweet, spicy, crunchy, and a real winner. A portion is twelve wings. The wings were amazing. They were served hot, and ready to be gobbled down. And we did gobble them!
Our lunch mate had the corned beef Hatch sandwich, complete with fried egg on the top of the meat. We had the Korean short rib sandwich. The ribs were melt in your mouth soft. In the sandwich, there were also kimchi and a ginger glaze. It was a eight napkin sandwich. It was also taam gan eden! Both of us declared that our individual sandwiches were the best we had ever had.
We also had spicy fries which came in a huge portion. The fries were well fried- crunchy and delish! No soggy fries at Hatch.
The restaurant is quite small, with more seating outside than inside. Owner Ethan is a character in his own right, and a most garrulous host and entertainer.
To sum up, this is a place to put on your must do list. The food is amazing. The place is lots of fun. And did we mention that the food is a Kosher Nexus Five Fork Award Winner?
