Meat Bagel Buns (Diabetic Safe)
What You’ll Need
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup liquid egg substitute
1/3 cup no-salt-added tomato sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Divide meat into portions. Using your hands, roll 1 portion into a ball and then indent in the middle. Flatten slightly to form a bagel shape. Place the beef bagel on baking sheet and repeat with remaining beef.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink. Allow meat bagels to cool slightly, then slice in half.
Notes
You can fill your Meat Bagel Buns with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, onions, or any other combination of your favorite fillings.
