Seasons, a kosher supermarket with four stores in New York, has begun construction of its newest store in Baltimore, which is expected to open late this year or early 2016, according to owner Mayer Gold. The new 20,000-square-foot store will offer full-service kosher shopping, including takeout food, deli meats, fish, produce, bakery, and floral departments, as well as delivery and catering services.
Mayer has likened his concept to Whole Foods without the “upscale prices,” according to a report in the Jewish Times. He also plans to open a location in Lakewood, N.J., and a Seasons Express convenience store in Five Towns by early next year, bringing the company’s store count to seven. Mayer opened the first location in 2011 after converting three Supersol stores in Queens, Manhattan and Lawrence, N.Y., into the kosher concept. Seasons also operates a store in Scarsdale, N.Y.
