A long time institution at the foot of Keren Hayesod Street where it meets King David and Jabotinsky streets, Cupa Joe was a great place to congregate and conversate. With free wireless, many people would sit for hours enjoying the ambiance of the place as they trolled the alleyways of the internet.
Cupa Joe was a fantastic dairy restaurant, open long hours, serving great food, and even better desserts. Coffee there was to be worshiped. Salads were huge. Soups were amazing and a meal all by themselves. Pasta dishes were robust and quite filling. Sandwiches there were not our favorites, but they sure were good.
Alas, recently we noticed that the restaurant had closed. Work on the interior was being done. We were somewhat taken aback. Our thought was that if they were going to do improvements, why not do them when they were closed for Pesach? A few days later, we noticed the sign was gone. Yet a few more days and a new sign appeared, announcing Molino.
We have not yet gone there- we are still in mourning for Cupa Joe, but we shall get there soon.
Goodbye Cupa Joe. We sure will miss you!
