MOCK SCALLOPS RECIPE (KOSHER OF COURSE)

We love the taste of faux scallops. We have no idea if the real, trefe item tastes like that, but we love the kosher analog version.

Here is a recipe we have done well with:

Mock Scallops Recipe

Ingredients for Mock Scallops Recipe

1-½ pounds halibut steak or cod or haddock sliced½ inch thick
Dry mustard
Salt and pepper
corn oil
Fine, dry bread crumbs

Instructions

Remove any skin and bones from the fish.
Cut in pieces the size of scallops.
Dip in corn oil, dust sparingly with the mustard, salt and pepper and put in a baking dish oiled with corn oil.
Cover with the crumbs, pour in a little corn oil, using that in which the fish was dipped, and bake fifteen minutes in a hot oven, 375 degrees F.
Serve with sliced lemon, a plain vegetable salad and French Fried or Shoe String Potatoes.
