THE EL AL LOUNGE

We recently flew Business Class on El Al both to and from Israel. (We did it on points- there is no way we could have afforded it otherwise!)

The nice thing about flying First or Business Class is that you get use of the private El Al lounge. The lounge in Tel Aviv, offered free internet hookup for your own puter as well as having several puters available for you to use. Nice touch, that!

The food is lavish and well thought out. It is pareve and dairy only. Salads, and other dishes are in generous supply. The soup in both cases was a broccoli soup. Hot coffee, hot tea, cold soda, seltzer, tea and fruit juice are all available.

Fresh fruit, cookies, cakes, chips of different types, and other sorts of finger foods are available.

In New York, the cake was that horrible Osem cake that comes in a wrapper. In Israel, the cake and cookies were fresh and tasty!

Couscous salad, garden salad, tuna salad, pasta salad, potato salad, hummus, techina and much more were available in both places.

The food is served buffet style, so you take what you want and can always go back for more.

Chairs in the lounge are quite comfortable and roomy. All in all, it is a really nice experience. Now if we could only afford to do it all the time!
