Cafe Belinda

So here we are in Jerusalem once again. From the airport we went to the kids’ apartment and then headed out to Cafe Belinda in the Wolfson tower for a great brunch. We love eating at Belinda’s place. First of all, it is fun to eat and watch the people come and go from the little mall there. Second the food is always incredible. Today, was no exception!

As it was 11:00am, we decided to skip breakfast and move into brunch territory. Two cups of Cafe Hafooch were a great eye opener. Not to mention that the coffee was just the way we like it!

Daughter Tali ordered the Dragon Bowl- a very large bowl of brown rice topped with wok sauteed tofu, onions, carrots, peppers and bean sprouts, tossed in soy and ginger. Of course, we glommed a taste of her dish and it was really good. We ar e not huge fans of tofu, but we have to say, the dragon bowl made good use of the stuff, and in a most delicious way.

We had the salad special of the day. Once again, the portion was huge! The salad of the day was an Israeli salad mixed with Quinoa. The Israeli salad had a bit more than the usual ingredients. The salt and pepper, oil and lemon m ade for a perfect dressing. The salad was really quite delish! Served with a hot from the oven foccacia spiced with zatar and a side of lebna and oil, the whole thing was wonderful.

Owner Linda stopped by our table as did main chef Mollie. Mollie also sent over some quite literally fresh out of the oven cookies she had baked. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, cookies…. !

More on Belinda to come. Today we need a reminder of just why we love eating there! Belinda is mehadrin kosher.
