GIVE US A KISS, HONEY!

Long time KN readers know that we love honey. Every year for Rosh Hashanah we try to find a new honey to serve at the table, a honey that we have not yet tried. Well, here are some new candidates:

Tupelo- Light golden amber with a slight greenish cast. Sweet, floral and fruity.

Manuka- From New Zealand. Dark brown color, a bitter bite to it. Somewhat woody.

Lehua- Hawaiian honey, light gold color, delicate flavor

Corbezzolo- Comes from the “tree strawberry” plant that only grows in Sardinia. Dark amber color. Strong, bitter and spicy.

Lavender- White color, sweet, rich and aromatic. A real goodie!

Leatherwood- Comes from an endangered tree that only grows in Tasmania (in the wilderness, no less!). Amber color, bold and spicy/sweet.

Black Button Sage- Comes from a rare plant that grows on the west coast of the USA. The plant flowers only three times in a ten year cycle. Water white color, sweet flavor with hints of fruit and vanilla.

Gosh, this list should keep us busy for a while! Enjoy!
