The point is, we feel most at home at that hotel. The front end staff are amazing- no request throws them or catches them short! They are always at your service and they do their jobs with style, panache, and savoir faire.
A hearty Kosher Nexus yishar kochachem to: Issam, Ruth, Oshrat, Baruch and the rest of the front end staff.
story continued below………..
In the dining room, Eihab and Nasir are two amazing fellows. Each morning at breakfast, our “cafe hafooch” was brought to the table without our ever having asked. One member of our group was a tea drinker and a daily assortment of teas was there each morninig no matter where we sat down. Instead of waiting in the omelet (made to your order) line, we signalled the chef as to what we wanted, went back to our table, and bada bing bada boom, the omelet magically appeared on the table minutes later!
Frankly, we like being in a hotel where the staff remembers your name. And if they forget your name, they certainly remember your face!
Walking into the hotel, we were greeted and given a very warm welcome. That sort of thing went on all over the hotel as we said hello to all of the people there we know.
We discovered that for too many people, the help at the hotel remain somewhat invisible. We regret that kind of attitude. We have found that the people who work in hotels are all wonderful people who seem to genuinely enjoy working for the happiness of others. And we have learned some interesting stories about people and how they live.
One day in the Old City we ran into a worker from the hotel (Eihab) and he was so excited to see us. It was as if we were old friends. Of course, the offer to have coffee together was sincere and immediate.
The Hotel Manager is a wonderful person as well. He is warm and personable and approachable. We saw him in the dining room every morning, and almost every day he stopped at our table to say hello. We are trying to convince him to build some apartments in the hotel so that we can “live” there, too! One hotel guest (as only a fellow member of the tribe would do) asked us who we are that the Hotel Manager stopped to say hello to our little group of four men. We told the fellow that we are just guests of the hotel as they are. They didn’t believe us. In truth, however, that is the way the Dan P operates.
In a small hotel, everyone knows your name! We have said it before and we say it again- The Dan P, don’t even think of staying anywhere else! There are hotels that cost more, and hotels that cost less. But dollar for dollar, shekel for shekel, the Dan P is where we want to be!
