Mushroom Turnovers

Ah, another great appetizer recipe! These are unusual as the crust has cream cheese in it. Very yummy! Enjoy!

Mushroom Turnovers

8 oz cream cheese
1 cup margarine
2 cups flour

2 T butter
? lb chopped fresh mushrooms
? medium onion, chopped
? tsp thyme
? tsp salt
? tsp pepper
1-1/2 T flour
? cup sour cream

In medium bowl mix together cream cheese and 1 cup margarine until well blended and smooth. Mix in flour until fully incorporated. Pat into a ball and refrigerate while you make filling.

Melt 2 T margarine in skillet. Add mushrooms and onion. Season with thyme, salt and pepper. Cook until tender, about 5 mins. Sprinkle the 1-1/2 T of flour over mixture and mix well. Reduce heat to lowest setting and stir in sour cream. Heat until thickened, then remove from heat.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, roll out some of the dough to about ? inch thickness. Use a cup to cut dough into about 3 inch circles. Put a teaspoon of filling on each circle and fold over and press the seams closed.

Bake for 15-20 mins in oven until golden brown. These freeze well.
