THE GRAPPLE

Beware of a new product appearing now, or soon to appear, on a grocer’s shelf near you! A new apple has hit the market. Called a GRAPPLE, the new apple is actually grape flavored!

To create the Grapple, the apple is marinated in grape juice. There is more to the process, but that pretty much sums up the major kashruth problem. The grape juice is not kosher, of course, which creates all sorts of problems for the kosher consumer.

The bottom line? Grapples are NOT kosher.
