LA GUTA RESTAURANT

La Guta
18 Rivlin St., Nahlat Shiva, Jerusalem.
Tel. 02-623 2322
Fine French-Oriental cuisine
Kashrut: Rabbanut Yerushalayim

This is one of Jerusalem’s finest restaurant. Service is exceptional, the food is too!

Located a block off the midrochov, this restaurant is easily accessible to all. The decor is sort of a cross between old Jerusalem and a grotto. There is much warm wood in the place, and one realizes upon entering that it is a very special place.

The restaurant starts you out with a loaf of bread baked right there along with three dipping sauces. The bread was delicious and warm. The dipping sauces were quite good, too.

Dinner was wonderful. We had the Jerusalem artichoke soup- a first for us. The soup was very tasty and served just the way we like it- piping hot!

For dinner we had the 500 gram entrecote. It was grilled just the way we like it. We discovered that in Israel you can order a steak “medium well- plus, plus” and you actually get it that way. Not rare and not over done.

My dinner companions ordered from all over the menu and all of us felt the dinner was quite excellent.

We suggest you look over on Eluna (www.eluna.com)to see what they have to say about the place. They seem to love it, and we concur.

What could you be bad? You shop the midrochov, then you go to eat at a five star restaurant.
