Congress Requires Clear Allergen Labels

WASHINGTON – Legislation requiring food labels to identify allergens in easy-to-understand language cleared Congress Tuesday and headed for the president’s signature.

Sponsors said the bill would help protect 11 million food-allergic consumers.
