Hi, I’m back! Did anyone miss me?
I recently returned from an unexpected hospital stay, with the orders “no heavy lifting for 6 weeks.” This is going to put a definite crimp in my Pesach preparation, that’s for sure! So I thought I’d share all the tips I’ve been getting about how to get ready for Pesach with a minimum of hard work (and no heavy lifting).
Rule #1 – If anyone offers help, take it!
There are a number of people who have been telling me, “take my teenager, please!” And I probably will, when it comes to shlepping boxes and things that I’m not able to do.
Rule #2 – Who needs cabinets?
A number of people have told me that they have dispensed with the idea that everything Pesachdik has to be put away in cabinets. A few just leave their (nonperishable) food out on a counter; many more, I’ve found, don’t bother to put their Pesach dishes in a cabinet, but rather leave them out on a sideboard or a credenza or even on a spare table. Makes sense to have the dishes already out in the dining room for the seder, no?
Stay tuned… as I get other tips, I’ll share them with you.
