We found the greatest blog out there (except for this one, natch). But, hey, don’t take our word for it. Listen to what Marlene has to say about her blog: The Jewish Hostess

“Ever wished domestic divas like Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray would turn their attention to Jewish food and holiday prep? Yep, me too. I’ve searched the Web for a place where Jewish women share and inspire one another with recipes, tabletop tips and hosting ideas, but haven’t found much inspiration. So I created The Jewish Hostess, an online community that celebrates tradition with a modern twist.

Here you’ll find simple weekday and more gourmet holiday meals, chic tabletop decorating tips, holiday activities for kids, nutritional advice and much more. Our goal: to help you pull off fantastic meals and throw great parties (without losing your cool). And wouldn’t it be great if your kids actually were excited about the food you put in front of them?

Now, a little about me: As a busy mom, I am always on the lookout for great recipes to wow my family. That can be tricky in my house, where the tastes range from carb-free vegans to insatiable carnivores. I even have an adorable little one attempting to survive on Fruit Roll-Ups alone (and no, honey, the 10 percent natural fruit juice does not make them healthy!) As for my professional experience, I’ve spent the last three years working on a documentary about the history of the Syrian Jewish community. I am intrigued by the stories of Syrian Jewish grandmothers who made the most of what they had — transforming the cheapest cuts of meat and passed-their-prime breads and vegetables into memorable dishes. One day, I asked an interviewee for her secret to keeping a family together, and she answered simply, “I FEED THEM!”And that was the inspiration for The Jewish Hostess.

My goal is to create a fun, chic and open Web site. But I can’t do it without you! Please share your best recipes, chic tabletop tips and any other ideas that might inspire your fellow Jewish hostesses. Cause we could all use a little help now and then!

Marlene M.”

By all means, go check it out! The recipes are great, the decorating tips are super and all of the rest of it all comes together in one really fine blog site. We found the site to be informative, helpful and really quite engaging. Kudos to Marlene (mabruk!) on her fantastic blog. We rate it a Kosher Nexus Five Fork Winner!!
