WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KOSHER CERTIFICATION ON PACIFIC ORGANIC LOW SODIUM VEGETABLE BROTH?

We received an email from a loyal reader:

I had been using Pacific Organic low-sodium vegetable broth, which had been Kof-K pareve. But about a month or so ago, the hechsher disappeared. The ingredients don’t seem to have changed, so I’m guessing it’s a production-line issue? So I wrote to them to complain, and got the following response:

“Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and share your thoughts.
We love hearing from our customers and it’s rewarding to receive recognition from loyal customers like you. I appreciate your request to continue to make the broth Kosher, we have received quite a few requests so I will pass yours on to our product development team.

At Pacific Natural Foods we believe nature, pure and simple, just tastes better.
Since 1987, we’ve been striving to deliver the delicious tastes out of what nature has already provided, keeping recipes simple and capturing the full flavor of ingredients when flavors are at their peak.
Back then we started out making soymilk, and now we have a full line of natural and organic products ranging from soups and broths to non-dairy beverages and pot pies!
It is the feedback that we receive from our customers that makes our work here so satisfying and we truly appreciate it.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments at any time. Have a wonderful day!

Kind regards,

Shannon Wiwatowski
Consumer Affairs Coordinator”

As they do say “we have received quite a few requests” (and obviously the rest of the letter is just a form letter), perhaps we should publicize it and get more people to write in? There are other kosher vegetable broths on the market, but this one was the only low-sodium one I know of. The email address is consumer_relations@pacificfoods.com .
