MAGNUM ICE CREAM BARS- CHECK THE BOX CAREFULLY

Kudos to a reader who wrote to us about seeing boxes of Magnum Ice Cream Bars marked NON KOSHER. We have not seen any, but we did contact the Kof-K. Below is their response:

Thank you for submitting your inquiry to the KOF-K Kosher Supervision.

The information you have received is correct. Due to capacity issues the Magnum product is now also being produced in other countries overseas. To protect the kosher consumer we have required the manufacturer to ink jet onto each box produced overseas “non-kosher” to ensure that kosher consumers don’t accidently buy the product thinking it is kosher. With that being said, it is extremely important that you check each box of Magnum for the KOF-K Kosher symbol to ensure that the product you are purchasing was produced at a KOF-K certified facility. (Emphasis ours)

Please let me know if I can be any further assistance to you.
