LUNCH AT THE JERUSALEM DAN PANORAMA HOTEL

NOTE: BETWEEN 2001 AND 2013 (UNTIL WE MADE ALIYAH), WE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL. YES, WE HAVE A BIAS, BUT WE BELIEVE THAT OUR REVIEWS ARE INDEED ACCURATE.

Recently we had lunch in the dairy restaurant at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem. The restaurant is located just off of the beautifully decorated, and comfortable, lobby. In fact, you can choose to have your meal in the restaurant proper or in one of the small group seatings that dot the lobby.

The menu is quite complete. Offerings include: salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, fish dishes, desserts, pizzas, and much more.

Our dining companion had the salmon served on a tomato based sauce. Roasted veggies accompanied the very fresh fish. The portion was large, and the taste was sublime.

We had a beet root carpaccio served around a centerpiece of incredibly good salad with a tongue pleasing sauce, with goat cheese. We were not sure what we would be getting as the idea of a vegetable carpaccio had never dawned on us, but, wow, was it ever fantastic. The thin sliced beets, marinated to perfection were phenomenal.

In the past, we have had the personal pizza there. They offer many kinds of pizzas, and from what we have had in the past, they are all great. While it is quite true that we would never, ever order an arugula pizza, that does not change the fact that they make one of the best pizzas in Jerusalem.

We have a seven year old grandson who begs us to take him there, because he is a big fan of their pasta in white sauce. Truly, he is a budding connoisseur!

We have not eaten in that restaurant for quite some time. We won’t wait so long for the next time.
