When we were kids, dessert in our house was often apple sauce. Our family enjoyed some really wild applesauces over the years. Here are two recipes, one derived from the other, that we enjoyed.
Take store bought applesauce and put it in a pot. Add about a half cup of red hots. Heat slowly and stir from time to time until the red hots are all dissolved.
Chill out while the stuff chills. Enjoy!!
One cup of apple sauce
1/3 cup of red hots
Cook until red hots dissove, then:
Add one packet of kosher, lemon flavored gelatin.
Add 7 ounces of 7-UP slowly to pot. Stir- don’t shake.
Chill until it sets……….
