HUGE KOSHER SECTION AT PATHMARK IN BERGENFIELD

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE A&P COMPANY

Expanded “All Things Kosher” Selection Now Available at the Newly Renovated Bergenfield, New Jersey, Pathmark Store

Certified Mashgiach on Staff to Oversee the Bakery and New Kosher Meat, Deli & Seafood Departments

Bergenfield, N.J. – – The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P) today announced the completed renovation of its Bergenfield Pathmark store. Now neighborhood residents can get fresh, high-quality kosher foods in a store staffed by a certified Mashgiach responsible for supervising the production of all things kosher. With triple the assortment of kosher products and the availability of fresh kosher meat and seafood, Pathmark’s upgraded Bergenfield store is a one-stop-shop for kosher shoppers and also offers a wide selection of non-kosher grocery items.

The 54,000 square-foot store located at 80 New Bridge Road in Bergenfield, New Jersey, was designed to make shopping easier for local residents. “We are committed to serving kosher customers in the Bergenfield community,” said Sam Martin, A&P’s President and CEO. “This remodeled store offers added convenience, a friendlier store environment, and a wider selection of items to meet the specific preferences of our neighborhood shoppers.”

A&P’s Kosher Category Manager Barry Eizik adds: “From fresh glatt kosher meats to an expanded assortment of kosher grocery items, this revamped store puts everything kosher right at our customer’s fingertips.”

In addition to brand new kosher meat and deli departments, the Bergenfield Pathmark offers convenient prepared kosher foods, including egg rolls, fried chicken, stuffed cabbage rolls, kugel and knishes. Customers will also find delicious kosher appetizers, including a new assortment of kosher cheeses. The re-merchandised kosher bakery offers kosher bread and a huge selection of indulgent kosher sweets, such as chocolate and cinnamon babka.

For convenience, the Bergenfield Pathmark store is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by specially trained associates who are knowledgeable about the store’s kosher offerings. In adherence to community practices, the kosher meat, deli and seafood departments close two hours prior to sundown on Fridays and stay closed all day Saturday. However, kosher meat and seafood products are still available for purchase in refrigerated cases and displays.

“It is wonderful to see A&P embrace different ethnic cultures and address their grocery needs,” says Shmuel Sophar, who is serving as the store’s certified Mashgiach. “This revamped store shows A&P’s commitment to the diverse communities it serves, and I’m excited to be a part of this innovative neighborhood store.”

In addition to offering an expanded kosher selection, the Bergenfield Pathmark continues to offer all shoppers a wide variety of specialty brands and non-kosher items as well.

All visitors are welcome to enjoy refreshments, product samplings and great giveaways at the newly upgraded store on Sunday, December 18.
