LITTLE ITALY

At the bottom of Keren Hayisod, there are a bunch of restaurants. Among them is Little Italy. A few years ago when we were there, we saw too many roaches climbing the walls and never went back again until this week. We are happy to report no more roaches!

The place is clean and well lit. Tables are of sufficient size. People seem to enjoy the meals there. It is a dairy restaurant, heavy on pasta and fish dishes. They also offer personal size pizzas.

We had a pizza with mushrooms and onions. The crust was just the way we like it- a tad crunchy on the outer edges and soft on the inside. There was plenty of cheese on the pie, and no shortage of onions and ‘shrooms.

The only things we didn’t like about the pie were the lack of sufficient sauce on the pie and the lack of any spice on the pie. Apparently, this is the only Italian restaurant in the world where oregano does not exist. There was none on the pie and none on the table. Nor, by the way, was there any red pepper on the table. There was only a shaker of Parmesan cheese.

We wish we could say the pie was good. It was not. It was totally bland. The lack of abundant tomato sauce added to the blandness of the pie.

We ate rather quickly and left.
