ROSH HASHANA HONEY!

No, it’s not Scarlett Johansson; it’s not Mila Kunis; it’s not Deborah Messing. It’s also not Laura Prepon, Natalie Portman nor Jamie Lynn Siegler.

We are talking about the food product called honey. Honey- as in dip your challah in the honey, dip your apple in the honey and put some honey into your tea!

Honey is a gift from Mother Nature, one that we should never take for granted for the entire honey story is a miracle!

Each year, we try to put a new honey on our table for Rosh Hashanah.

One of our faves is eucalyptus honey. It has a great taste, a deep color and a palate pleasing sweetness. One year we tried buckwheat honey- that was a huge mistake. Hawaiian white honey was a blast, and not only due to its color.

Two other faves are heather honey which is especially good in herbal teas. Also orange tree honey is a common honey, but a good tasting one, also.

Finally, there is the old standby- clover honey. It is the working honey of all the honeys. It is the utility player of the honey world. Not much to recommend it, but it is commonly found, and it works.

Give your family a treat this Rosh Hashanah- try a new honey flavor. They will thank you!
