Something New is Brewing at Anheuser-Busch: Bud Light Golden Wheat Available for Advance Sampling in Four U.S. Cities

New Brand is Available Only at the A-B Brewery Tour Hospitality Room

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 10, 2009) – One of the most highly anticipated new product launches of 2009 will be available soon to sample by adult guests on the Anheuser-Busch brewery tour and visitor’s center in four U.S. cities.

Although Bud Light Golden Wheat won’t be available to the general public until its national launch on Oct. 5, guests on the A-B brewery tour will be among the first in the United States to get a chance to sample the beer. These tour centers are located in Fort Collins, Colo.; St. Louis, Mo.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Merrimack, N.H.

Bud Light Golden Wheat is a premium light, unfiltered wheat beer brewed with wheat malt, coriander and citrus peels. A medium-bodied brew, Bud Light Golden Wheat is slightly sweet on first sip giving way to a refreshingly tart, citrus finish.

“Bud Light Golden Wheat has all the personality of Bud Light and appeals to light beer drinkers who seek a little more flavor from their beer,” said Bruce Eames, brand manager for Bud Light Golden Wheat. “Consumer interest in a more flavorful light beer drove our decision to develop Bud Light Golden Wheat, and we are pleased to offer brewery tour guests the unique opportunity to sample the beer before its nationwide launch.”

The tour centers in Merrimack and Jacksonville currently have the new beer available for sampling. The beer will be available in Fort Collins on Saturday, Sept. 12, and in St. Louis on Wednesday, Sept. 16. A fifth tour center, at A-B’s brewery in Fairfield, Calif., will have the beer available at the same time of the national launch, on Oct. 5.

Eames said Bud Light Golden Wheat captures the refreshment of the wheat beer style while remaining consistent with Bud Light product attribute of Superior Drinkability – not too heavy, not too light.

Bud Light Golden Wheat contains 4.1 percent alcohol by volume (also available in 3.2 percent ABW) and is available in 12-ounce glass bottles, 22-ounce single-serve bottles and on draught.
