THE SKY IS FALLING- PART THREE

The article on the possible collapse of kosher continues with :

“Fact: Shochtim are being pressured to work unrealistic hours.”

Yup, it is true. Of course, “unrealistic” is a relative term. The article conveniently forgets to tell us just what that means. Do they have to work a longer day? Are work periods longer and off time shorter? Just what does the “fact” mean?

How’s this for size? Fact: with Agri out of business (for all intents and purposes), other companies are racing to provide sufficient meat for the kosher market place. In the short run, that often means that shochtim have to work harder/longer for a brief period of time until the market rights itself.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling……………..
