Kosher Online Superstore To Expand

For Immediate Release

NEW YORK/EWORLDWIRE/Oct. 27, 2005 — Kosher.com, the leading worldwide distributor of kosher foods online, has announced that it plans to triple its distribution facilities within the next six to eight months.

“The need for a one stop kosher food superstore that can service both the wholesale and retail consumer has been confirmed,” said Moe Rosenblum, V.P. in charge of customer relations at Kosher.com.

“Sales have grown at a monthly rate of more than twenty percent since launching our new website earlier in the year and we don’t foresee any slowdown soon,” said Rosenblum. “This task cannot run as a small operation. We receive a myriad of orders daily which at times need to be shipped out at a moment’s notice to almost anywhere in the world. The monies invested so far into our infrastructure have proven invaluable and we foresee, with G-d’s help, continued growth into the future.”

Kosher.com was founded more than five years ago among the dot-com rubble and has had to endure the pessimism that came with being an online grocery superstore. The internet of the 90’s has highlighted some huge online-grocery flameouts, most notably Webvan.com that swallowed close to a billion dollars before it proved itself unworkable.

Much has transpired in the online marketplace since that time, and companies like Safeway, Royal Ahold, and Stop & Shop have all jumped into the online marketplace without looking back. It is a market that now seems to be quite robust and expanding at a rapid pace.

Kosher.com fills a gap in the kosher food marketplace, which today is a $12 billion industry growing at a rate of 15 percent each year. With more than 80,000 products already certified kosher, the market is hungry for a strong online supplier.

Rosenblum added, “Kosher.com’s current fulfillment facility which was only 10 months old is already feeling the strains of growth and would need to be expanded very early in the New Year. Whether for simple convenience, or to be able to receive the best selection and freshest foods anywhere anytime, Kosher.com seems to be working on a winning formula.”
